My Canon Story
Michael Asaad is an award-winning Egyptian photojournalist and documentary photographer with over 15 years of experience. He has received multiple accolades, including the United Nations Award and first place in the Egypt Press Photo competition, and is renowned for his coverage of significant events such as Egypt’s January 2011 Revolution.
Currently serving as the head of the photojournalism department at Rose Al-Youssef Foundation, Michael became a Canon certified trainer in 2022. He is passionate about photography as a means of self-expression and heritage documentation, using his camera to raise awareness and promote positive change. As a trainer, Michael focuses on empowering individuals through photography, teaching them skills to harness the power of the medium for social impact.
