My Canon Story
Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Tore Oriase is a talented documentary and lifestyle photographer and music video director whose work blends creativity with purpose. Tore’s journey into photography began as a turning point in 2018, when the Canon Miraisha Programme redirected his focus away from the challenges and negative influences of his Bariga community, providing him with a path of hope and self-expression.
What started as a simple interest evolved into a deep passion, driven by years of hands-on experience and training under Canon industry professionals. Over half a decade, Tore honed his craft, gaining the skills and knowledge to thrive in the industry. His portfolio includes directing music videos and photo content for renowned Nigerian artists such as Oritse Femi, B Red, Whiteman, and Jaywon, achieving over 15.6 million social media impressions. His work has been featured on global platforms like MTV Base Africa, Hip TV, Soundcity, and Vevo, cementing his reputation as a creative force in the entertainment industry.
In 2022, Tore took his expertise to the next level by completing the Canon Train the Trainer (TTT) Programme, earning certification as a Canon Certified Trainer. This milestone fueled his commitment to community service, leading him to establish the Culture Films Initiative. Through this platform, Tore empowers underserved communities by equipping children and young adults with photography and filmmaking skills, opening doors to opportunities and fostering creative expression.
