My Canon Story

Seibou Traoré is a talented portrait photographer from Côte d'Ivoire, whose remarkable career has evolved from humble beginnings to high-profile subjects, including footballers, presidents, and beauty pageant royalty. His journey into photography started at the age of 10, when his mother gifted him his first film camera, allowing him to capture images of his pet dog and the world around him.

As Seibou's skills grew, his focus shifted from animals to documenting everyday life, including school sports, theatre, and the Red Cross youth section. The political unrest in Côte d'Ivoire in 2002 led him to turn his passion into a source of income, selling photos to classmates. His success in wedding photography eventually confirmed that his hobby would become his life's work.

Today, Seibou is a Canon Ambassador, celebrated for his ability to create an atmosphere where his subjects feel comfortable and empowered. Clients often express how his work has a therapeutic effect, making them feel celebrated and seen. Seibou believes photography can promote well-being, freezing moments in time not only to preserve memories but also to create positive change and celebrate life's triumphs.
