In this video, Canon expert Guido Krebs explains what to look for when buying a 50mm lens with F1.8 aperture. These lenses have been available from Canon in three versions since the 1980s. They work very well as a 'normal' focal length for full-frame cameras and as a fast portrait lens for cameras with an APS-C sensor. The differences between the three versions lie in the coating, AF mechanism and finish.
